Sunset View is nestled in the heart of Maryland’s wine and hops country; surrounded by rolling farmland and with the ability to sleep up to 12, Sunset View offers a quiet retreat or the perfect gathering place for multi-generational families or groups attending weddings or farm festivals, visiting wineries or farm breweries, attending the rodeo, going on trail rides, or exploring history. You can be as quiet or as busy as you wish!
7 wineries and 3 farm breweries within 5 miles, plus music & art festivals, wedding & event facilities, golf courses and more. 30 minutes to Gettysburg and other Civil War sites; 45 minutes to Baltimore's Inner Harbor; 60 minutes to Washington, DC. Convenient to McDaniel College.

GETTING AROUND
You will need your own wheels! There is no public transportation, and this area is not very popular with cab companies, Uber or Lyft.
PARKING
3-4 mid-size cars (or 2-3 large SUVs) can fit in parking area by entrance; additional parking available.
Car/limo (with driver) services available in Frederick.
THINGS TO NOTE
Sunset House is surrounded by working crop and livestock farms. While we love the sounds of country life, some visitors are surprised by all the sounds! Cows and steers, goats and sheep, sometimes coyote, fox and livestock guard dogs - particularly on clear evenings or during full moons! And farmers do "make hay while the sun shines," but they also have to make it when the weather is dry, and that can mean they are occasionally haying or harvesting on Sundays or at night, in order to get it while the weather is favorable.
We and most of our guests enjoy the sounds of country life, particularly the church bells.
